CDMX Recs
There are a million things to do in Mexico City. Our best advice is to get off the “top ____” listicles and just walk around and explore. We’ve had the best time when we just strolled through neighborhoods and ducked into new places to eat or experience something new.
If you must have some sort of guide, these are the places we love and are special to us.
Sit-down Restaurants
Taller Xilotl
Small & cozy seafood focused restaurant with an inventive twist. Everything is fire, including the mushroom taco shown above. 13 minute walk from Sofitel.
This seafood restaurant is more classically Mexican. The seafood is fresh and out of this world. You can’t go wrong, but we loved the burrito and tostada. The service is great too!
Arirang
When you’ve been taco'-ed out and just want really solid authentic Korean food, that exists in CDMX’s Little Seoul. The seolleongtang has soothed my soul on multiple occasions. The beer is really cold.
Really unique Indian & French fusion restaurant.

Club Sorbet
Fun place for an outdoor daytime natural wine, paired with soft-serve and vibey music.
Standing-room only natural wine and sake bar in Juarez with amazing food. Menu is dealer’s choice, so you’ll get into some great convos with the bartenders. Only an 8 minute walk from the Sofitel.

Things to do
Chapultepec Castle
The only castle in North America that actually served as a home for royalty. The walk up the hill is beautiful, and we love seeing the views over Chapultepec Park. The gardens, art, and historic rooms inside make it worth the slight climb.
Museo Jumex
Love its rotating contemporary art exhibits which change quarterly, so there's always something new and thought-provoking to see.
For the fragrance lovers out there, this place is really special. I’m not a fragrance person but I still think about my visit here. It was so immersive and beautiful, for all your senses.

Running Routes
Avenida Amsterdam
If you’re staying in Condesa, this is a chill 1.2 mile loop that really shows off the lush and green side of Mexico City. Urban jungle!
Chapultepec Park
A huge park with 3 sections. You’ll probably easily see Section I since that’s where all the main stuff is, but make sure to check out Section II for some interesting scenery.
Paseo de la Reforma (Sundays)
Every Sunday from 8am-2pm, Reforma shuts down for bikers, runners, and walkers. It’s an amazing way to get a feel for the people and the city.
